Lately I’ve noticed that Changchun’s version of what older Americans would call "hoodlums" have got themselves a new set of representative wheels. If you never pictured China having "hoodlums," well, let me tell you, they’ve got’ em. In general, they are high school and college-age kids who didn’t or won’t make it into college, and seem to spend most of their time getting their hair done and riding around on souped up scooters. I offer proof below:
First note the super-cool hairstyle. Also, the space-age canister on the the back is actually a boom box. One of the reasons these kids are ‘hoodlums’ is because they ride around town in little biker gangs (or should I say ‘scooter gangs’?) blasting techno music loud enough to be heard 4 blocks away. This particular crew happens to work at a store right across from my house.
If prerequisite number one is owning one of these beauties with the space-age boom box on the back, then number two is having a girlfriend with cool sunglasses and awesome hair.
And of course, the super-sweet scooter-ride cannot be not complete without Transformer emblem. It’s their way of making sure you know there’s more to this scooter than meets the eye…
